Salary: $104,000 - $127,000

About Our Facility
TCI is a high-end, 48-bed, residential facility, licensed by DCFS in the State of Illinois. TCI provides an intensive, 24-hour therapeutic treatment environment for young men from the ages of 12-19. Through milieu therapy, we promote a community-based, systematic approach that focuses on positive behavior interactions, interventions and supports within the parameters of a safe, secure and structured milieu environment. Within our milieu environment, our goal is to build self-esteem, teach individual accountability as well as appropriate coping, social and problem-solving skills so that our youth gain the tools necessary to interact appropriately with others in various social settings. Through Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), our clinicians take a goal-oriented approach at turning previously held maladaptive and distorted thoughts, undesirable feelings and responses, and inappropriate behaviors into those that are more befitting allowing our youth to successfully execute their environment now and in their future endeavors.

Professional Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree in a human services field.
Master’s Degree Preferred
2 years of verifiable successful experience working as a supervisor or director in an a therapeutic residential facility
Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (Train the Trainer) Certificate Preferred

Skills and Competency Requirements:

Deep knowledge of Illinois DCFS licensing and program requirements and rules.
Demonstrated competency with skills and abilities to work successfully with the challenging behaviors of supported individuals.
Demonstrated capacity to be an appropriate role model, including exhibiting mature behavior and making appropriate decisions.
Must demonstrate a working knowledge of Positive Behavior Support and values that align with the organization
Be able to speak, read, and write the English language at a level of proficiency to satisfactorily carry out the essential job duties and functions included in this job description
The ability to work with various people having various backgrounds and educational levels
Have strong interpersonal skills
Must satisfactorily complete: DCFS Criminal background check, FBI background check, drug screening, sex offender registry check, copy of education transcripts and licensure.

Position Summary:

Supervisory Responsibilities

Manages five or more administrative employees; is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and maintenance of service delivery. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, budgeting, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Ensures staff accountability to the COO.

Oversees supervision to a team of 80 +/- employees in a 40-bed 24/7 facility specializing in working with adolescent males ages 12 to 19 having significant behavioral issues due to significant trauma and other difficult events. Residential Director works under the broad supervision, operationalizing the policies and programs as determined by the Chief of Operations (COO), requiring a level of independent judgment and independent action. Reports directly to the Chief of Operations (COO). Provides direct supervision to Unit Coordinators. Responsible for after hours on call, oversees daily operations, leads weekly staff meetings, participates in leadership management team meetings and is responsible for program implementation and complete management of each shift.
