Full Job Description

JED Transportation is seeking a Full-Time Transportation Dispatcher / Operations Coordinator to join our operations team. This is an Evening/Overnight position requiring a 1-2 month training period with our lead staff during the late afternoons into evenings.

This is not a traditional call center position. We are looking for strategic thinkers who can manage a complex, real-time transportation network while anticipating challenges before they happen. Previous dispatch experience a MUST!

The successful candidate will oversee daily chauffeur operations, monitor flight activity, manage schedule adjustments, and make proactive decisions to ensure every client is picked up and delivered on time. This role requires someone who can consistently think one to two hours ahead, identify potential service disruptions, and reallocate resources before problems occur.

JED provides luxury ground transportation services for corporate travelers, airport transfers, private aviation clients, weddings, and special events throughout the St. Louis metropolitan area.

What You'll Do

Monitor and manage 200+ daily trips in a fast-paced operations environment
Track commercial and private flight activity and proactively adjust chauffeur schedules based on delays, cancellations, and early arrivals
Coordinate real-time schedule changes and "leapfrog" chauffeurs between assignments to maximize efficiency and maintain on-time service
Anticipate operational conflicts before they occur and implement solutions with minimal service disruption
Communicate professionally with chauffeurs regarding trip updates, routing changes, and schedule modifications
Manage transportation logistics during high-volume periods, weather events, flight disruptions, and special events
Maintain accurate trip records and dispatch information within company software systems
Respond to customer and chauffeur inquiries with urgency and professionalism
Document incidents for continuous improvement education
Collaborate with the operations team to ensure a seamless VIP client experience

What Makes Someone Successful in This Role

Ability to manage multiple moving pieces simultaneously without losing attention to detail
Comfortable making real-time decisions under pressure
Excellent situational awareness and problem-solving abilities
Ability to prioritize competing demands in a rapidly changing environment
Strong communication skills and a sense of urgency
Ability to remain calm and focused during disruptions or unexpected changes

Preferred Experience

Dispatching, logistics, transportation coordination, airline operations, fleet management, emergency services dispatch, trucking dispatch, limousine transportation, or similar operational experience
Knowledge of the St. Louis metropolitan area
Experience using scheduling, dispatching, or transportation management software
Previous experience monitoring flights, routes, schedules, or field personnel is highly preferred

Position Expectations

Monitor and coordinate approximately 120 daily trips
Manage real-time schedule changes and service recovery situations
Work collaboratively with chauffeurs, reservations, and management teams
Become an in-house expert on fleet features and chauffeur licensing to be able match and allocate resources according to customer requests
Maintain high standards of service for VIP, corporate, and private aviation clients

Multiple shifts are possible for the right candidate. EVENINGS, OVER NIGHTS, WEEKENDS, full or part time will be considered.
