Once Upon a Child and Plato's Closet are the premier resale stores buying and sells children's clothing, toys, equipment, furniture and accessories at Once Upon a Child and teen and young adult apparel and accessories at Plato's Closet. Our St. Louis area stores continue to grow and we need more leaders on our team for our best year ever!

We are looking to add a Store Manager and Managers-in-Training to our team ASAP. Tired of the same ol', same ol' retail? Looking for a position where your performance directly impacts the performance of your store? If you answered "yes" and "yes" then Once Upon a Child or Plato's Closet may be a great fit for you.

The Store Manager is responsible for all aspects of successfully operating a store including customer service, training, coaching, sales, merchandising, inventory acquisition, inventory management, report analysis, daily, weekly and monthly reporting, loss prevention, human resources, cash management, scheduling, operations and ... more.

If you are already a retail professional you understand the many 'hats' a Store Manager wears on a daily basis. If you're looking to join the retail world this is a position that demands flexibility and an ability to prioritize on a moment-by-moment basis to achieve the store and company goals. In these positions you will be supported by very experienced and accomplished senior management including the District Managers and the Owners, each of whom are in position to help you 'win'. We also support you as you pursue your goals by providing competitive rates and bonus opportunities to your entire team.

(For Managers-in-Training, think "ready for more but not quite experienced enough to runb the whole show yet". You bring the passion and intensity and we will provide the training and experince to cultivate the skills you'll need to step into a managerial role.)

Requirements

* Management experience is required

* Must be able to work evenings and weekends and have schedule flexibility based on store needs

* Excellent customer service skills are imperative in this front line position

* Superior trainer, coach, motivator and leader

* Must accept and crave accountability for your own performance and that of your team

* Embraces a 'people before product' approach

* Believes that busy days are good days and the busiest days are the best days

* Willing to do anything you expect your team to do and desire to train them so well they don't ever need you to do it

* Understands IPT, GM, SPLH and other awesome retail acronyms and how to use them or willing to learn

* Must take your work seriously but not yourself and also value a healthy work/life balance

* Must be able to stand for several hours and lift up to 40 pounds

Pay: $60,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
