Full Job Description

Senior Pricing Analyst

Who we are:

Tradition Energy is the nation’s largest and most experienced independent energy risk management and procurement consultant. We are part of the Tradition Group, one of the world’s top 3 institutional brokers of financial products and commodities with over 2,300 employees in 29 countries. Clients partner with us to manage their energy price risk exposure and to develop and implement risk management strategies to control and reduce their energy expenditures.

This is a senior seat on our Pricing Desk — a deregulated-energy commercial pricing role, not a general procurement, purchasing, or FP&A position. You'll draw on deep, hands-on knowledge of North American deregulated power and natural gas markets to run daily pricing operations and serve as the critical link between our Energy Advisors and our supplier network. If you've spent years pricing deregulated C&I power and gas deals and can speak ISO/RTO fluently, this role is built for you.

What you'll do

Own daily pricing execution across North America's deregulated power and gas markets — sourcing, comparing, and finalizing supplier pricing (matrix and custom) for C&I clients across ISOs/RTOs including ERCOT, PJM, ISO-NE, NYISO, MISO, and CAISO.
Serve as the desk's link between Tradition's Energy Advisors and our supplier network — no Advisor contacts a supplier directly; you and your team own that interface.
Negotiate price and contract terms between clients and suppliers to achieve client objectives.
Provide clients and Advisors with clear, current reads on deregulated power and gas market developments.
Review pricing deliverables for accuracy, clearly highlighting the differences across competing supplier offers.
Identify and drive improvements to pricing workflows, turnaround times, team efficiency, and service levels.

Who you are

5+ years pricing deregulated retail electricity and natural gas for commercial and industrial (C&I) customers. This is the core requirement — general procurement, purchasing, or accounting pricing experience will not substitute.
Hands-on pricing experience in at least two North American deregulated markets (for example ERCOT, PJM, ISO-NE, NYISO, MISO, or CAISO).
Fluent in how deregulated power and gas deals are structured and priced — fixed, index, block-and-index, and layered products.
Demonstrated experience leading or mentoring a team in a fast-paced pricing, procurement, or energy-operations environment.
Bachelor's degree, preferably in Business, Economics, Finance, or a related field.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel; comfortable working with large pricing datasets.
Highly organized, with the judgment to prioritize many concurrent requests and decide soundly under tight deadlines.

Location

Full-time, on-site in Stamford, CT. You'll partner daily with Energy Advisor teams in Stamford, Boston, Dallas, and Houston.
