Junior Accountant
AMS Renewable Energy

$55,000 - $65,000 a year - Full-time

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Accounting Clerk to support our Finance & Accounts team in a growing Solar EPC business. The successful candidate will be responsible for credit card expense entries, accounts payable processing, data entry, and maintaining accurate financial records to support the Finance Team. This role offers an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional to gain hands-on experience in the renewable energy industry.

Key Responsibilities

Accounts Payable (AP)

Process vendor invoices and ensure timely recording in the accounting system.
Verify invoice details, approvals, and supporting documentation.
Assist in preparing vendor payment schedules.
Post it to right project, job and cost.
Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies.

Credit Card Expense Management

Record and reconcile company credit card transactions.
Review expense reports and supporting receipts.
Ensure expenses are accurately coded to appropriate accounts and projects.
Follow up with employees for missing documentation and approvals.

Data Entry & Record Keeping

Enter financial transactions accurately into the accounting system.
Maintain organized electronic and physical accounting records.
Assist in updating project-related cost tracking for Solar EPC projects.
Support the Senior Accountant with data collection and report preparation.

General Accounting Support

Assist with bank reconciliations.
Prepare journal entries as directed by the Senior Accountant.
Support month-end and year-end closing activities.
Help maintain fixed asset and project cost records.
Ensure compliance with company accounting policies and procedures.

Qualifications

Education

Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.

Experience

0–2 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience.
Experience with accounts payable and data entry is preferred.
Experience in construction, engineering, or Solar EPC industries is an advantage.

Skills & Competencies

Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite.
Familiarity with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, NetSuite, or similar ERP systems.
Good organizational and time management skills.
Ability to handle confidential financial information.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
