Sous Chef

Join the Team at The Shack – Staunton, VA

We are looking for a passionate cook to join our small, collaborative team. This position can be the right fit for an experienced line cook ready for more responsibility or a sous chef looking to be part of a creative, hospitality-driven restaurant.

We’re a chef-driven restaurant that values curiosity, craftsmanship, and taking care of one another. Every member of our team contributes to creating memorable experiences for our guests.

Schedule

Wednesday: 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Thursday: 10:00 AM – 10:00 PM
Friday: 10:00 AM – 10:00 PM
Saturday: 10:00 AM – 10:00 PM
Sunday: 12:00 PM – 10:00 PM

What You’ll Do

Prepare and execute dinner service with consistency and attention to detail.
Assist with daily prep and station organization.
Work closely with the chef on seasonal menus
Help maintain a clean, organized, and professional kitchen.
Support and encourage a positive, team-first culture.

What We’re Looking For

Previous professional kitchen experience (2+ years preferred).
A strong work ethic and positive attitude.
Dependable, organized, and eager to learn.
Someone who values hospitality just as much as great food.
A cook who enjoys working as part of a small, supportive team.
