JOB SUMMARY:

The Business Development Specialist will create and build client relationships while leading efforts to obtain projects. This role develops and facilitates the proposal process for specific clients including business terms, proposal writing, contract negotiations and client presentations.

SALARY RANGE: $85,000 - $120,000 annually

BENEFITS:

Untracked/unmeasured vacation.

Annual discretionary bonus based on company profitability and your manager's assessment of your performance.
A 401(k) savings plan under which BNB matches the first 3 percent of your deferral with a 100% match and the next two percent with a 50% match for a total matching contribution of 4% of your pay. You are immediately 100% vested in all contributions (including BNB match). We provide both traditional (pre-tax) and Roth (post-tax) contribution options.
We are proud to be an employee-owned company. This means you get an ownership stake in BNB through a benefit called an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP). It's 100% company-funded and is invested in BNBuilders stock. You can participate in this long-term plan after you complete 1 year of service (with at least 1,000 hours).
Vehicle/vehicle allowance, fuel card, and toll pass.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Support the development of qualifications, proposals, and presentations by collaborating with business development team members, project managers, estimators, and corporate support groups.
Assist in coordinating proposal efforts by gathering project information, tracking deliverables, and helping define project scope, team responsibilities, and submission requirements.
Draft and edit proposal narratives, qualifications packages, and marketing materials to effectively communicate the company's capabilities and project approach.
Coordinate with internal teams to ensure proposal deadlines are met and all required documentation is accurate, complete, and compliant with client requirements.
Communicate proposal outcomes and client feedback to internal stakeholders, ensuring project teams understand client expectations, schedules, and next steps.
Maintain proposal logs, CRM records, and business development reports to track opportunities, pursuits, and project status.
Help build and maintain relationships with clients, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and industry partners to support new business opportunities.
Participate in client meetings, networking events, pre-bid conferences, and site visits as needed.
Support marketing and business development initiatives, including research on prospective clients, market trends, and upcoming project opportunities.
Assist with other business development and marketing activities that support the team's goals and strategic initiatives.

QUALIFICATIONS

2+ years of business development, marketing, estimating, project coordination, or related experience within a general contractor, construction management firm, subcontractor, engineering, architecture, or related construction industry organization.
Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Construction Management, Communications, or a related field preferred. Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience will also be considered.
Experience supporting proposal development, qualifications packages, presentations, or client pursuit efforts is preferred.
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to produce clear, professional, and persuasive documents.
Highly organized with excellent time management skills and the ability to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with Adobe InDesign, CRM platforms, or proposal management software is a plus.
Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.
Demonstrates strong attention to detail, initiative, problem-solving skills, and a customer-focused mindset.
Willingness to attend networking events, client meetings, and occasional site visits.

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is frequently required to sit, communicate, reach and manipulate objects, tools or controls. The position requires mobility. Duties involve moving materials weighing up to 10 pounds on a regular basis and up to 25 pounds on an occasional basis. Manual dexterity and coordination are required over 50% of the work period while operating equipment such as computer keyboard, mouse, calculator and similar machines.
