Full Job Description

Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Estimator to join our construction team! In this vital role, you will be the driving force behind accurate project cost assessments, helping to shape successful bids and ensure profitable project execution. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to diverse construction projects, utilizing your skills in pricing, cost control, and negotiation to deliver exceptional results. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment and have a passion for construction estimating, we want to hear from you!

Duties

Meet with potential clients, subcontractors and engineers to determine the scope of work.
Document, organize, understand and interpret complex streams of information and paperwork including plans, specifications, geo-technical reports, environmental reports and other data common to the civil construction industry.
Solicit, analyze and review subcontractor and vendor’s price quotes for conformity to the Bid Documents.
Work collaboratively with the field supervision team to garner their creativity with regard to building the project in a productive manner.
Complete accurate site work take-off for environmental controls, land clearing, excavation, storm water management, underground utilities, concrete curbing, stone base, asphalt paving, and all other aspects of site work.
Complete accurate estimates of required labor, equipment, materials, and subcontractors needed to complete project.
Prepare proposals
Communicate effectively with clients during the bidding stages, post bid stages and final negotiations.
Review contracts and manage contract administration.
Follow awarded contracts assigned. May include estimating extra work items, change orders, credits, procuring material, etc.

Qualifications

Civil / Site work estimating experience
Solid knowledge of construction site operations, contracts, pricing strategies, and cost control methods.
Experience reading plans and performing accurate supply and material take off
Energetic with a high sense of urgency
Ability to work independently and solve problems
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Proficient with Microsoft Office software.
AutoCAD experience
Experience with the use of InSite estimating software
Able to develop and maintain client relationships
Work independently 45-55 hours per week.
Proven experience in construction estimating with a strong understanding of construction management principles.
Excellent negotiation skills to secure favorable terms from vendors and subcontractors.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications accurately.
Construction site experience or background in construction management is preferred to enhance estimate accuracy.

Pay: $50,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
