Full Job Description

Key Responsibilities

Prepare accurate conceptual, schematic, design development, and final construction cost estimates for commercial building projects.
Review construction drawings, specifications, and bid documents to develop comprehensive project estimates.
Solicit, analyze, and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations.
Develop complete bid packages, scopes of work, and detailed cost breakdowns.
Coordinate with owners, architects, engineers, consultants, and project teams throughout the preconstruction phase.
Participate in value engineering and cost-saving initiatives while maintaining project quality.
Manage multiple estimates and bid deadlines simultaneously.
Lead and mentor estimating staff while assisting with workload planning and team development.
Maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, vendors, and industry partners.
Travel to project sites, client meetings, and pre-bid conferences as required.
Ensure all estimates comply with company standards and industry best practices.
Prepare professional bid proposals, presentations, and supporting documentation.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Building Construction, or a related discipline preferred.
5–8 years of estimating experience with a Commercial General Contractor.
Strong understanding of all phases of commercial building construction.
Extensive knowledge of CSI MasterFormat and commercial construction trades.
Experience estimating projects across multiple commercial construction disciplines.
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and blueprints.
Proficiency with construction estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Strong organizational, planning, and time management skills.
Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Strong leadership, personnel management, and decision-making abilities.
Detail-oriented with exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Skills

Knowledge of construction scheduling and project management principles.
Experience with value engineering and conceptual budgeting.
Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
Proven ability to present quotations, estimates, and project documentation professionally.
Sales and client relationship management experience is a plus.

Pay: $100,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
