Full Job Description

Job Summary

At Emblem, we specialize in commercial insurance for the trucking companies that keep South Florida moving — particularly dump trucks, aggregate haulers, and construction-related fleets transporting sand, rock, fill, asphalt, and construction materials throughout Miami-Dade and Broward.

We are looking for an experienced, licensed, and bilingual Commercial Insurance Account Manager who understands the trucking industry and can manage accounts from start to finish. This role is responsible for quoting, binding, servicing, renewing, and maintaining commercial trucking policies, while providing responsive support to clients whose operations depend on having the right coverage and documentation in place.

Our clients operate in a fast-paced environment where timing matters. A Certificate of Insurance may be needed immediately for a truck to enter a jobsite, a policy change may affect whether a unit can operate, and a missed premium finance notice can result in an avoidable cancellation. We need someone who understands that urgency, stays ahead of deadlines, and takes ownership of each account.

If you have experience managing commercial trucking insurance accounts, understand the needs of motor carriers and construction haulers, and know how to build strong relationships with both clients and carriers, we want to hear from you.

This is an on-site, full-time position in our Miami office.

What You'll Do

Sales and client management

Quote and sell commercial insurance to new and existing trucking and construction clients
Identify coverage needs and exposures, market submissions to carriers and wholesalers, and present options clearly — including the difference between what a Florida statute requires and what a contract requires
Guide clients through applications, underwriting requirements, and binding
Own follow-up through the full sales and renewal cycle

Policy administration and servicing

Manage issuance, renewals, endorsements, cancellations, reinstatements, and mid-term changes — including the constant add/delete of units and drivers that comes with seasonal construction work
Coordinate documentation with carriers, brokers, MGAs, and surplus lines wholesalers
Issue Certificates of Insurance and secure the endorsements clients' contracts actually require — Additional Insured, Waiver of Subrogation, Primary & Non-Contributory, notice-of-cancellation provisions — and confirm the endorsement is genuinely on the policy before the certificate goes out
Track USDOT filings, MCS-150 biennial updates, and MCS-90 endorsements and, for interstate accounts, BOC-3 and UCR status
Chase and verify workers' compensation certificates and exemption certificates, since general contractors won't clear a subhauler without them
Keep policy files complete, organized, and audit-ready

Premium collection, payments, and accounting support

Handle all premiums as fiduciary trust funds, in line with Florida law and agency trust-account procedures
Provide Accounting with invoices, receipts, payment confirmations, carrier statements, and financing documents

Licensing, appointments, and compliance

Maintain the agency's licenses: applications, renewals, and regulatory requirements
Coordinate new state licenses as the agency expands, including non-resident agency and producer filings
Manage carrier appointments and their 24-month renewal cycle
Track renewal and compliance dates so nothing lapses

What You Need

Active Florida insurance license: 2-20 General Lines Agent.
3+ years of commercial lines experience in an insurance agency.
Hands-on experience with commercial auto and trucking accounts — commercial auto liability, motor truck cargo, physical damage, general liability, excess/umbrella, and workers' compensation
Professional written and verbal fluency in both English and Spanish. This position requires explaining coverage, exclusions, limits, endorsements, and payment obligations directly to clients in both languages.
Working command of COIs and the Additional Insured / Waiver of Subrogation / Primary & Non-Contributory endorsements in construction contracts is required
Working command of premium finance agreements, down payments, and installment schedules
Comfortable in an agency management system (AMS360, Applied Epic, EZLynx, HawkSoft, or similar) and Excel at an intermediate level - required experience
Organized and relentless on follow-through — this role runs on deadlines that have real consequences

Strongly preferred

Dump truck, aggregate, or construction-hauling accounts specifically — you know why cargo limits get required on loads of dirt, and what an unattended-vehicle warranty does to a claim
Florida 1-20 Surplus Lines license, or experience placing business through E&S wholesalers and transportation MGAs
Familiarity with FMCSA and FLHSMV compliance: USDOT registration, MCS-150, MCS-90, IRP/IFTA, and CSA BASIC scores as an underwriting factor
Experience preparing trucking submissions: driver schedules, MVRs, loss runs, VIN and radius schedules
Prior involvement in agency licensing or carrier appointments
