Full Job Description

Overview
Kohn Law, P.A. is seeking an experienced Paralegal with a strong background in Nursing Home Negligence, Assisted Living Facility Abuse and Neglect and Medical Malpractice cases. Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Preparation and filing of Complaints, Pleadings, Motions, and Orders
Preparation and filing of Discovery Requests and Responses
Ensure compliance with court rules and deadlines throughout the litigation process
Prepare cases for trial (including but not limited to the preparation of exhibits, witness materials and pre-trial documents) and attend trial with attorneys, assisting throughout trial
Communicate with experts, specifically, prepare and organize materials needed for expert witness review
Lien negotiation and reduction
Maintain communication with clients regarding case updates and requirements

Experience and Abilities:

3-5 years of experience as Personal Injury Litigation Paralegal
Working knowledge of the Florida Rules of Civil Procedure, Statutes and Florida Courts E-Filing Portal
Experience in the preparation of cases for trial; attending trials with attorneys and assisting throughout the trial
Lien reduction experience is a plus, but not required
Adapt and learn quickly
Think logically and solve problems effectively
Organize and prioritize workload
Excellent organizational skills; be able to follow instructions, switch tasks quickly and meet deadlines
Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also being self-motivated
Bilingual (Spanish - English) is a plus, but not required
