Full Job Description

About Alleato Group

Alleato Group is a growing commercial design-build general contractor seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to lead estimating and preconstruction efforts.

Unlike contractors who only price completed construction documents, Alleato becomes involved early in the process. We work alongside clients, architects, subcontractors, and project teams to develop accurate budgets, evaluate constructability, identify value-engineering opportunities, and guide projects from early concept through contract award.

This is a hands-on estimating position with meaningful influence over preconstruction strategy and the continued growth of our company.

What You'll Do

Lead commercial estimates from conceptual budgeting through final proposal
Prepare detailed quantity takeoffs, scopes of work, estimates, and bid packages
Develop conceptual, schematic-design, design-development, and construction-document estimates
Solicit, analyze, level, and qualify subcontractor and supplier proposals
Identify scope gaps, exclusions, risks, and potential cost impacts
Develop subcontractor coverage and maintain strong trade-partner relationships
Collaborate with clients, architects, project managers, and company leadership
Provide constructability reviews, cost analysis, and value-engineering recommendations
Present budgets and estimates clearly to internal teams and clients
Maintain historical cost information and improve estimating processes
Manage multiple active pursuits while maintaining accuracy and deadlines
Support the transition of awarded projects from preconstruction to operations

What We're Looking For

At least five years of commercial construction estimating experience with a general contractor
Experience estimating commercial projects valued at $10 million or more
Strong knowledge of commercial construction methods, materials, scopes, and sequencing
Proven experience performing quantity takeoffs and developing complete estimates
Experience soliciting and leveling subcontractor bids
Ability to identify missing scope and evaluate subcontractor exclusions
Strong communication, organization, and relationship-building skills
Experience with Bluebeam and estimating platforms such as On-Screen Takeoff or PlanSwift
Experience with Procore or similar construction-management software
Design-build or negotiated preconstruction experience is strongly preferred
