Full Job Description

At FK Instrument, precision isn't just expected, it's what sets us apart. We're looking for a detail-oriented Quality Assurance Inspector to join our 2nd shift team. If you enjoy working with precision machined components, interpreting engineering drawings, and ensuring every part meets the highest quality standards, we'd love to meet you.

You'll play a key role in inspecting aerospace and precision-machined components using advanced inspection equipment while working alongside a team committed to continuous improvement and manufacturing excellence.

What You'll Do

Perform first article, in-process, and final inspections on precision machined components.
Conduct visual and dimensional inspections using CMMs, calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and other precision measuring equipment.
Operate Zeiss CMMs using existing inspection programs and create new programs in Calypso (preferred).
Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T requirements.
Complete First Article Inspection (FAI) documentation and quality records.
Identify, document, and communicate nonconforming products.
Partner with manufacturing to maintain quality standards and recommend process improvements.
Accurately record inspection activities and labor in the ERP system.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

What We're Looking For

3+ years of mechanical inspection experience in a manufacturing environment.
Strong blueprint reading and GD&T interpretation skills.
Experience using precision measuring equipment including: CMM, micrometers, height gauges, surface plates and indicators, gauge blocks and pin gauges, thread plug and ring gauges, optical comparators, profilometers.
Experience with Zeiss CMMs and Calypso software is a plus.
Familiarity with AS9100 quality standards.
Ability to work independently while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.
