Performs intermediate to complex technical support, general lab maintenance, and lab operational support with some degree of independence to aid in research projects. Responsible for following lab safety standards.
Job Description:
This position is for a research technician to support the goals of a grant projected funded by the National Institute on Alcohol and Alcoholism. The project involves intensive daily data collection across a 19-month period. This position will support recruitment and retention of a sample of 150 ASU college students. Additional responsibilities will include data management and preliminary data analyses as well as oversight of the project under the supervision of Dr. William Corbin.

Essential Duties:
- Essential duties include overall monitoring of the project, recruitment, and tracking and retention of participants as well as data management and analyses. Duties also include communication with the ASU IRB and the funding source (NIAAA).
Desired Qualifications:
- Desired qualifications include at least one year of research experience and experience with project management. Additionally desired qualifications include experience with participant recruitment and retention and data management and analyses and/or experience with any of the programs used to perform these tasks (RedCap, Qualtrics, Expiwell, SPSS).
Working Environment:
- Daily activities will include regular meetings with members of Dr. Corbin’s research team, communication with the ASU IRB and the funding source, and recruitment, tracking, and retention of a sample of 150 college men. Once data collection has begun, daily activities will include setting up data repositories, assisting with data cleaning, and preliminary data analyses. These tasks will involve working with a variety of software programs including Qualtrics, Expiwell, RedCap, and SPSS.
