Position Overview

The Pre-K Teacher leads a classroom of children ages 3–5 years old, creating a structured learning environment that promotes school readiness.

Teachers guide children through intentional learning experiences that develop language, early literacy, math, social skills, and independence.

This role is ideal for teachers who enjoy leading engaging lessons, building strong classroom routines, and helping children develop the skills needed to succeed in kindergarten.

Key ResponsibilitiesCurriculum & Instruction

Implement daily lesson plans using the CLI Engage Circle Curriculum
Lead structured learning activities including:
Circle time
Early literacy activities
Early math concepts
Science and discovery
Art and creative expression
Music and movement
Support children’s development in language, early reading, problem-solving, and social-emotional growth

Classroom Leadership

Maintain clear classroom routines and expectations
Guide children through transitions and structured activities
Encourage independence, responsibility, and cooperation
Foster a positive classroom environment where children feel confident and supported

Active Supervision & Safety

Maintain constant active supervision of all children
Follow all Texas Child Care Licensing Minimum Standards
Ensure classroom safety during activities, meals, restroom routines, and outdoor play

Classroom Environment

Maintain organized learning centers including reading, writing, art, dramatic play, science, and manipulatives
Prepare classroom materials and reset learning centers daily
Ensure classroom environments support engagement and exploration

Communication & Team Collaboration

Communicate professionally with families about children’s progress and daily activities
Work collaboratively with assistant teachers and administrative staff
Participate in staff meetings, training, and professional development

QualificationsRequired

High School Diploma or GED
Child Development Associate (CDA) or willingness to obtain within 90 days of hire
Ability to pass background check and fingerprinting
Ability to meet Texas Child Care Licensing requirements

Preferred

Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field
Experience teaching in a Pre-K or preschool classroom
Experience implementing structured curriculum
