Full Job Description

Overview

Perreca Electric is a long-established union electrical contractor serving the Hudson Valley since 1949. We perform commercial, heavy industrial, mission-critical, manufacturing, utility, data center, communications, controls, and other technically demanding electrical work.

Our current and upcoming workload includes a growing portfolio of commercial, industrial, and mission-critical electrical projects throughout the Hudson Valley.

Position Summary

Perreca Electric is seeking an experienced Electrical Project Manager as a long-term addition to our management team.

We are looking for a true cradle-to-grave Electrical Project Manager who can estimate and assemble bid packages and when work is awarded, take full responsibility for managing the project from startup through final closeout.

The successful candidate must have direct project management experience working for an electrical contractor and be capable of independently managing labor, materials, subcontractors, budgets, schedules, billing, change orders, documentation, client relationships, and overall project financial performance.

Responsibilities

Prepare electrical estimates, budgets, takeoffs, and bid packages.
Review drawings, specifications, contracts, and project scope.
Participate in preconstruction, design-assist, design-build, and value-engineering efforts.
Transition awarded projects from estimating into construction.
Establish and maintain project budgets, schedules, procurement plans, and manpower projections.
Coordinate union field labor, supervision, subcontractors, vendors, materials, and equipment.
Manage submittals, RFIs, project documentation, and client correspondence.
Attend and lead project meetings.
Identify, price, document, and negotiate change orders.
Prepare monthly billing and maintain accurate cost-to-complete forecasts.
Monitor labor productivity, committed costs, profitability, and project risks.
Coordinate QA/QC, testing, commissioning, punch-list work, and final closeout.
Maintain responsibility for the project’s overall operational and financial performance.

Required Qualifications

Minimum of five years of direct electrical construction project management experience.
Prior experience as a Project Manager for an electrical contractor.
Experience managing large commercial, industrial, or mission-critical electrical projects.
Demonstrated experience with electrical estimating, budgeting, and cost control.
Experience managing union labor and field supervision.
Proven responsibility for scheduling, procurement, change orders, billing, and cost forecasting.
Strong knowledge of electrical construction means, methods, materials, and sequencing.
Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, specifications, contracts, and schedules.
Strong organizational, leadership, communication, and client-management skills.

Preferred Experience

Experience with data centers, mission-critical facilities, advanced manufacturing, heavy industrial facilities, distribution centers, utility work, medium-voltage systems, and design-build or design-assist projects is strongly preferred.

Technical Requirements

Candidates should be proficient with:

Microsoft 365, including Excel, Word, and Outlook
Microsoft Project or comparable scheduling software
Bluebeam Revu
ConEst or comparable electrical estimating software
Procore, Timberline or comparable construction-management software
Basic AutoCAD navigation
Navisworks or comparable coordination software
Revit, ACC and Forma experience are a plus.

Work Location

This position requires daily reporting either to our Newburgh, New York office or directly to the assigned project site.

Our projects are located throughout the Hudson Valley, primarily in Orange, Dutchess, Putnam, Rockland, Ulster, and Sullivan Counties within IBEW Local 363 territory.

This is an in-person position and is not remote.
