Overview
Join our dynamic construction team as a Pipe Layer and play a vital role in installing underground pipe that keep communities connected and operational. This energetic position involves working on diverse construction sites, utilizing heavy equipment, reading blueprints, and ensuring precise pipe placement. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment and are passionate about building infrastructure, this opportunity is for you!

Responsibilities

Install underground utility piping systems (water, sewer, storm drainage)
Operate heavy machinery such as dozers, loaders, backhoes, excavators, and front loader trucks to excavate trenches and position pipes accurately
Install pipes using specialized tools like pipe lasers to ensure precise alignment and elevation
Ensure proper connections, seals, and bedding of pipe
Conduct utility locating to identify existing underground utilities before excavation to prevent damage or accidents
Maintain safety protocols on-site by inspecting equipment
Assist with concrete finishing tasks around pipeline areas for a clean, professional finish

Skills

Proven experience operating heavy equipment including dozers, loaders, backhoes, excavators, forklifts, and front loader trucks
Skilled in blueprint reading and interpreting technical drawings for accurate pipe installation
Knowledge of concrete forming, finishing techniques, and welding processes related to pipeline projects
Ability to locate underground utilities using utility locating tools to ensure safe excavation practices
2+ years of experience as a pipe layer in civil construction preferred
Ability to work in trenches and confined spaces
Physically able to lift 50+ lbs, bend, kneel, and work in varying weather conditions
Strong teamwork and communication skills
