Application Programmer – Rhapsody Integration

Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center | Niagara Falls, NY

Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center is seeking an experienced Application Programmer to design, develop, and support healthcare interfaces using Rhapsody Integration Engine. This role is responsible for building and maintaining secure, reliable integrations between clinical and business systems to support high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, test, and maintain interfaces using Rhapsody Integration Engine.
Develop integrations using HL7, FHIR, XML, JSON, REST/SOAP APIs, and SQL.
Troubleshoot interface, performance, and data integrity issues.
Collaborate with clinical, operational, vendor, and IT teams on new integrations and system enhancements.
Monitor interface performance and maintain technical documentation.
Support system upgrades, testing, deployments, and production support.
Follow security, change management, and development best practices.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Healthcare Informatics, or related field (or equivalent experience).
3+ years of experience with Rhapsody Integration Engine.
Strong knowledge of HL7 v2, REST/SOAP web services, XML, JSON, SQL, and healthcare interoperability.
Experience troubleshooting complex interface issues.
Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with FHIR, EHR integrations, Git, CI/CD, and Java, JavaScript, Python, or C#.
Experience working in a HIPAA-regulated healthcare environment.

The facility offers a 171-bed regional medical center with extensive inpatient and outpatient services, including a full-service Medical & Psychiatric Emergency Room, The Heart Center of Niagara featuring an on-site Cath Lab, Niagara Wellness Connection Center, The Wound Center of Niagara, OB/GYN Center and UBMD Orthopedics & Sports Medicine. We also offer a comprehensive range of surgical services.

The first hospital in Niagara to be designated a stroke center by the New York State Department of Health, we operate several satellite facilities, including the Summit Healthplex, Tuscarora Health Center, primary care offices in Niagara Falls, Wheatfield, and the Town of Niagara.
