Full Job Description

Prestigious trial firm looking for a specialized Litigation Assistant to undertake a variety of administrative and clerical tasks in the personal injury litigation and medical malpractice department.

Responsibilities:

- File and save physical & electronic filings

- Communicate with Calendaring Clerk to get all deadlines calendared;

- Keep cases organized by inputting information into the case management software (Smart Advocate);

- Full Preparation of documents for filing, mailing, e-mailing, faxing, cover letters/correspondence;

- Calls to Department Clerk/Court for hearing reservations or questions;

- Reservation of Court Reporters, Videographers, and CourtCalls for depositions;

- Confirming with opposing counsel(s) that depositions are going forward;

- Preparation of Retainers/Expert Retainers, check requests & execution;

- Scheduling case related Doctor Appointments, Inspections, hotel, flights, rental cars and parking reservations;

- Preparation of Document Production (PDF Combining, bate stamping, transferring to CD or flash);

- Preparation of non-engagement/drop letters ;;

- Deposition preparation (printing and assembling exhibits);

- Preparation of binders for Court Hearings and/or Mediation;

- Administrative support to paralegals and attorneys.

Requirements:

- Minimum of 2+ years experience working in a civil litigation firm;

- Knowledge of state rules of civil procedure and federal rules of procedure;

- Knowledge of applicable litigation subject areas, including relevant terminology and processes;

- Excellent English grammar, reading, writing skills; Spanish-speaking a plus;

- Detail oriented, team player, positive, energetic, kind and well spoken;

- Skilled with computers and scheduling software, as well as organized, excellent communication and able to work in a fast-paced environment;

- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (including Outlook, Word, Excel);

- Demonstrate good ethics, judgment and maintain the confidentiality of files

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.00 - $32.00 per hour
