Full Job Description

Our dental office, Millennium Dental of Tracy, is looking for a front desk receptionist. Our office hours are Monday 8:30am-5:30pm, Tuesday 8:30am-5:30pm, Wednesday 7:30am-4:30pm, Thursday 7:30am-4:30pm. We are closed every other Tuesday and Fridays. One Thursday per month is an orthodontic day and the office hours are 8:30am-5:30pm. There will be 4-5 hours of admin time required on closed days. As a receptionist, you will be the first point of contact for our company. You will welcome guests and greet people who visit the business. You will perform front-desk responsibilities, such as answering phone calls, presenting treatment plans, maintaining the office schedule, confirming appointments, verifying insurance benefits and possibly billing insurance claims. To be successful as a receptionist, you should have a pleasant personality, as this is also a customer service role. You should be able to deal with scheduling emergencies in a timely and effective manner, while streamlining office operations. Multitasking and stress management skills are essential for this position. Ultimately, a receptionist’s duties and responsibilities are to ensure the front desk welcomes guests positively, and executes all administrative tasks to the highest quality standards. After a 90 day probationary period, you will be eligible for paid time off, and sick paid leave. After 12 months, you will be eligible for participation in a 401k plan that offers employer matching.

Due to our office having a high percentage of Spanish-speaking patients, being fluent in Spanish in essential to the position.

Responsibilities

Greet and welcome guests warmly as soon as they arrive at the office
Answer, screen and forward incoming phone calls
Ensure reception area is tidy and presentable, with all necessary stationery and material (e.g. pens, forms and brochures)
Provide basic and accurate information in-person and via phone/email
Receive, sort and distribute daily mail/deliveries
Order front office supplies and keep inventory of stock
Perform other clerical receptionist duties such as filing, photocopying, transcribing and faxing
Learn to check patient's insurance verification and benefits
Learn to bill insurance claims and enter insurance payments.

Skills

Proven work experience as a Receptionist, Front Office Representative or similar role in a dentist office.
Hands-on experience with office equipment (e.g. fax machines and printers)
Experience with dental practice software is preferred. Preferably Dentrix Ascend and/or Dentrix.
Experience with dental insurance verification and billing claims.
Professional attitude and appearance
Solid written and verbal communication skills
Ability to be resourceful and proactive when issues arise
Excellent organizational skills
Multitasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks
Great Customer service attitude
Fluent in Spanish
High school degree
