Full Job Description

Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Medical Biller with at least 3 years of experience using Athena EHR to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the billing process, ensuring accurate coding of medical procedures, and facilitating timely collections. This role requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, coding systems, and billing practices to ensure compliance with regulations and optimize revenue cycle performance.

Duties

Process patient billing and claims submissions accurately using CPT coding and ICD-10 standards.
Review and verify patient information and insurance details to ensure accuracy in billing.
Manage accounts receivable by following up on unpaid claims and conducting medical collections as necessary.
Answer patient calls regarding billing questions promptly and efficiently.
Maintain organized medical records and documentation in compliance with legal regulations.
Utilize EMR and EHR systems to input data, track billing processes, and generate reports.
Collaborate with healthcare providers to resolve discrepancies in billing or coding.
Stay updated on changes in medical coding regulations and billing practices to ensure compliance.

Requirements

Requirements
Certified in Medical Billing and Coding (CPC, CCS, or equivalent) required
Minimum of 3 years of experience using Athena EHR for billing required
Minimum of 3 years of outpatient primary care billing experience required
Proven experience in medical billing, coding, or related roles within a medical office setting
Strong knowledge of medical terminology, DRG, CPT, ICD-10, and medical records management
Excellent customer service skills with a pleasant and professional telephone demeanor
Reliable transportation required
Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently
Ability to communicate effectively with patients, insurance companies, and healthcare providers
Proactive problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.00 - $26.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35.0 – 40.0 per week
