Position Summary
The Flooring Delivery Driver (Class C) is responsible for safely delivering flooring products and related materials to customer locations throughout Oregon and Washington while providing exceptional customer service and maintaining the professional image of Hardwood Industries.
This position operates company Class C delivery vehicles and requires a strong commitment to safety, delivery accuracy, customer satisfaction, and continuous improvement. The Flooring Delivery Driver serves as a key representative of Hardwood Industries and is often the primary point of contact with customers at delivery locations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Customer Deliveries
-
Safely transport flooring products, moldings, underlayment, adhesives, and related materials to customer locations.

Verify products and quantities before departing for deliveries.
-
Ensure all deliveries are completed accurately and on schedule.

Obtain customer signatures and required delivery documentation.
-
Deliver products in a professional and courteous manner.
-
Communicate delivery delays, issues, or shortages promptly.
Material Handling
-
Load and unload delivery vehicles safely and efficiently.
-
Secure loads to prevent product damage during transportation.
-
Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment as authorized and trained.
-
Assist warehouse personnel with staging, loading, receiving, and organizing inventory when not performing deliveries.

Conduct hand unloading of flooring materials when customer equipment is unavailable.

Inspect products for damage and report discrepancies immediately.
Vehicle Operations

Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections on assigned vehicles.

Maintain vehicle cleanliness and professional appearance.

Report maintenance concerns, damage, or safety issues promptly.

Follow all applicable traffic laws and company driving policies.

Ensure required delivery and vehicle documentation is completed accurately.
Safety & Compliance

Follow all company safety policies and procedures.

Maintain a safe work environment during loading, unloading, and deliveries.

Use proper lifting techniques and required personal protective equipment.

Report accidents, incidents, near misses, and property damage immediately.

Comply with OSHA requirements and company safety standards.
Customer Service

Serve as a positive representative of Hardwood Industries.

Maintain professional relationships with customers, vendors, and coworkers.

Resolve routine delivery concerns in a professional manner.

Communicate customer feedback and service opportunities to management.
Other Duties

Assist with warehouse operations and inventory management as needed.

Support special projects and departmental initiatives.

Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Required Qualifications

Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.

Ability to qualify under Hardwood Industries' vehicle insurance requirements.

Previous delivery driving, warehouse, or distribution experience preferred.

Ability to safely operate company delivery vehicles.

Strong customer service skills.

Strong communication and organizational skills.

Dependable attendance and reliability.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Ability to read maps, route information, shipping documents, and product labels.

Ability to successfully complete pre-employment drug screening.
Preferred Qualifications

Previous flooring, building materials, lumber, or construction product delivery experience.

Forklift certification or experience operating forklifts.

Knowledge of warehouse operations and inventory control processes.

Experience using delivery routing or transportation software.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to:

Use hands and arms to secure loads and handle materials.

Lift and carry up to 75 pounds regularly.

Operate forklifts and warehouse equipment as authorized.
Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
