Full Job Description

We are The Miami Valley Group, an Executive Search and Recruiting Firm and we have been retained by one of our large clients in the manufacturing sector “AIDA-America Corporation” to go out and find a Mechanical Engineer to join their team.

AIDA is a global leader in the design, manufacture, sale, service, refurbishment and modernization of metal stamping presses and metal forming automation equipment. AIDA worldwide boasts approximately 2 million square feet of manufacturing space, 1,800 plus associates and a press manufacturing capacity exceeding 2,000 presses per year making AIDA, in units produced, one of the largest press manufacturers in the world. Currently AIDA has more than 3,000 presses operating in North America and 80,000 worldwide, with capacities ranging from 35 to 4,000 metric tons. AIDA is the pioneer in developing Servo Direct Drive technology for stamping press applications.

They are currently seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join their team. The ideal candidate will be a recent graduate or have 1 to 3 years of work experience.

What you'll be doing:

Create effective designs that meet customer or product specification and add value while controlling costs.
Insure engineering designs meet operational, safety and Aida design requirements, as well as any additional requirements of the engineering department, manufacturing department, purchasing department or our customers.
Investigate and help resolve engineering or design related problems that occur with parts and assemblies in the design and manufacturing phases.
Conduct motion, force, tress, thermal, and vibration analysis of designs when necessary. Properly document and archive analysis result.
Conduct, assist and/or participate in design reviews for assigned projects.
Participate in job planning and scheduling. Take full responsibility to assure projects/tasks assigned and undertaken meet goals for cost, schedule and product performance.
Manage the output of designers and drafters assigned to assure project schedule. Thoroughly check drawings and calculations of designers / drafters assigned.

What you need for this position:

A Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Zero to 3 years of experience in design engineering, preferably capital equipment, machine tool, and or automation background.
Knowledge of AutoCAD, FEA, kinematics and thermal analysis. Experience with MECHANICA or ANSYS, and Pro/engineer preferred but not required.
Knowledge of DFM/DFA procedures and processes, design of large fabrication, castings, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, and knowledge of machining operations.

Good trouble shooting and diagnostic problem solving skills.
Knowledge of applicable OSHA, ANSI, CSA standards.
