Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and innovative MQ Architect to lead the design, development, and implementation of enterprise messaging solutions using IBM MQ. In this role, you will be instrumental in shaping the architecture of reliable, scalable, and secure messaging systems that support critical business operations. Your expertise will drive the integration of diverse systems, optimize system performance, and ensure high availability across cloud and on-premises environments. Responsibilities

Design and develop comprehensive MQ architectures aligned with enterprise solution architecture standards and business requirements
Lead the integration of IBM MQ with various platforms including cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure), SAP, Pegasystems, and microservices architectures
Implement high-availability, load balancing, and disaster recovery strategies to ensure system resilience and uptime
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define system design for system development, including APIs, RESTful services, and system integration points
Oversee system administration tasks such as configuration management, security (RBAC, firewalls, VPN), and performance tuning for MQ environments
Develop and enforce best practices for solution architecture design, system design for system development, and systems engineering processes
Evaluate new technologies related to messaging queues, container orchestration (Kubernetes), virtualization (VMware), and DevOps tools (Jenkins, CI/CD pipelines) to enhance solution capabilities

Requirements

Proven experience as an MQ Architect or in a similar role with extensive knowledge of IBM MQ or equivalent messaging middleware solutions
Strong understanding of service-oriented architecture (SOA), solution architecture design, and enterprise solutions implementation
Proficiency in system design for system development across diverse platforms including Windows, Linux, UNIX, and cloud environments
Hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure services such as AWS or Azure; familiarity with cloud-native solutions like Kubernetes is highly desirable
Deep knowledge of software architecture principles including microservices, APIs (RESTful API), load balancing, data model design (NoSQL databases like MongoDB or Cassandra), and high availability strategies
Expertise in programming languages such as JavaScript, Python, Java, Bash scripting, T-SQL or PL/SQL for automation and technical solutions implementation
Strong grasp of computer networking concepts including DNS, DHCP, VPNs, firewalls; experience with security best practices is essential
Familiarity with DevOps practices including CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins or similar tools; experience with version control systems like Git is required
Excellent problem-solving skills coupled with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to stakeholders at all levels
