JOB DESCRIPTION
PARTY CHIEF / EXPERIENCED SURVEY CREW

Location: USA

Employment Type: Full-Time

Experience Level: Experienced

Hiring Priority: Urgent

Position Overview

We are urgently seeking experienced Party Chiefs and Survey Crew professionals to support surveying and field operations in the state of Maryland, Virginia, and D.C. Candidates should have hands-on experience with modern surveying equipment, field data collection, and survey procedures.

Key Responsibilities – Party Chief

· Lead and supervise survey crews during daily field operations.

· Perform boundary, topographic, construction, ALTA/NSPS, and other land surveys as required.

· Operate Total Station, GPS/GNSS equipment, data collectors, and other surveying instruments.

· Establish and verify survey control points and benchmarks.

· Collect, record, and maintain accurate field data and notes.

· Review plans, plats, legal descriptions, and survey documents.

· Perform field calculations and quality-control checks.

· Coordinate with surveyors, project managers, engineers, contractors, and clients.

· Ensure fieldwork is completed safely, accurately, and according to project specifications.

· Train and provide guidance to junior crew members.

· Maintain and troubleshoot survey equipment as needed.

Key Responsibilities – Experienced Survey Crew

· Assist with boundary, topographic, construction, and other field surveys.

· Set up and operate Total Station and GPS/GNSS equipment.

· Collect accurate field measurements and survey data.

· Assist with establishing control points, benchmarks, stakes, and construction layout.

· Maintain field notes and electronic data records.

· Follow instructions from the Party Chief or Survey Manager.

· Perform equipment checks and assist with basic troubleshooting.

· Follow all company safety procedures and project requirements.

· Travel to various project locations as required.

Required Qualifications

· Previous professional land surveying / field surveying experience.

· Experience with Total Station and GPS/GNSS equipment.

· Experience using survey data collectors.

· Knowledge of basic surveying principles and field procedures.

· Ability to read and understand survey plans, drawings, and maps.

· Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

· Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

· Ability to work effectively as part of a survey crew.

· Valid driver's license preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

· Experience with construction surveying, boundary surveys, topographic surveys, or ALTA/NSPS surveys.

· Experience with Trimble, Leica, or similar surveying equipment.

· Experience with AutoCAD/Civil 3D or related surveying software.

· Prior experience leading a survey crew for Party Chief candidates.

· Surveying certification or relevant technical education is a plus.

Physical & Field Requirements

· Ability to stand, walk, and work outdoors for extended periods.

· Ability to carry and set up surveying equipment.

· Ability to travel to project sites as required.

· Ability to work safely around construction sites and other field environments.
