Full Job Description

Position Overview

We are seeking a Temporary Bookkeeper to support daily accounting operations. This role is responsible for accounts payable, bank reconciliations, financial reporting, resident/account receivable transactions, and maintaining accurate financial records. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and experienced in a fast-paced accounting environment.

Responsibilities

Process and code vendor invoices and ensure timely payments.
Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies.
Prepare monthly pre-close reports and assist with month-end close activities.
Review general ledger activity and research accounting issues.
Post payments, adjustments, refunds, and maintain accurate account records.
Monitor delinquent accounts and assist with collections.
Reconcile bank accounts and research outstanding transactions.
Assist with budget tracking, financial reporting, and audit requests.
Respond to accounting inquiries and maintain organized financial records.
Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting procedures.

Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience.
Strong understanding of accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and general ledger accounting.
Experience preparing financial reports and supporting month-end close.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
Experience with accounting or property management software such as Yardi, RealPage, Entrata, AppFolio, OneSite, or similar systems preferred.

Preferred Experience

Property management, affordable housing, tax credit, HUD, or conventional housing experience.
High-volume invoice processing.
Budget tracking, variance reporting, and audit support.

Pay: $26.63 - $32.08 per hour
