Job Overview
We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Sous Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. In this pivotal role, you will assist the Executive Chef in overseeing daily kitchen operations, ensuring the highest standards of food quality, safety, and presentation. Your leadership will inspire our culinary staff to deliver exceptional dining experiences, whether in fine dining settings or large-scale catering events. Duties

Assist the Executive Chef in supervising all kitchen activities, including food preparation, cooking, and plating to meet quality standards.
Lead and motivate kitchen staff, fostering a positive team environment focused on excellence and continuous improvement.
Oversee inventory management and control, ensuring proper stock levels, minimizing waste, and maintaining accurate records.
Coordinate with the dietary department to accommodate special dietary needs and ensure compliance with food safety regulations.
Manage shift operations efficiently by scheduling staff, monitoring performance, and ensuring timely service during busy periods.
Oversee food production for various service types including fine dining, banquets, catering events, and restaurant service.
Ensure adherence to food handling safety standards and sanitation protocols at all times.
Participate in menu planning alongside the culinary team, incorporating innovative dishes while maintaining consistency.
Support kitchen management tasks such as ordering supplies, managing costs, and maintaining equipment.
Provide training on food safety practices, culinary techniques, and customer service standards to team members.

Skills

Extensive culinary experience with a strong background in fine dining and catering environments.
Proven supervising experience with team management skills that motivate and develop staff.
Knowledge of banquet operations and large-scale food production processes.
Expertise in inventory control, food handling procedures, and kitchen management systems.
Strong leadership qualities with excellent communication skills to coordinate effectively across departments.
Familiarity with dietary requirements and experience working within dietary or nutritional departments.
Ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently during shift management scenarios.
Solid understanding of food safety standards and best practices for sanitation and hygiene.
Experience in restaurant management including menu planning, food service management, and catering logistics.
Competence in cooking techniques across various cuisines with an emphasis on presentation quality.
Background in hospitality environments with a focus on delivering exceptional guest experiences.
