Full-Time | Early Morning Schedule

About Foode

Foode is a locally owned café and catering company that has proudly served our community for over 18 years. We’re passionate about scratch-made food, exceptional hospitality, and creating an environment where our team can grow. As our bakery program continues to expand, we’re looking for an experienced Lead Baker who takes pride in craftsmanship, consistency, and leading by example.

Position Summary

The Lead Baker is responsible for overseeing daily bakery production while maintaining the highest standards of quality, consistency, food safety, and organization. This role is ideal for someone who loves baking from scratch, enjoys working independently during early morning hours, and can help develop and mentor a growing bakery team.

What You’ll Do

Prepare a variety of baked goods including breads, cookies, muffins, scones, pastries, and seasonal desserts.
Ensure all products are consistently prepared to Foode recipes and quality standards.
Plan daily production based on café and catering needs.
Manage inventory and communicate ordering needs to leadership.
Maintain a clean, organized, and food-safe bakery.
Train and mentor bakery team members.
Assist with developing new recipes and seasonal menu offerings.
Monitor product quality and make adjustments as needed.
Work collaboratively with café and catering teams to ensure products are available on time.

What We’re Looking For

2+ years of professional baking experience (leadership experience preferred).
Strong knowledge of scratch baking techniques.
Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Positive attitude with strong communication skills.
Reliable and punctual.
Comfortable lifting up to 50 lbs. and standing for extended periods.
Food Handler’s Card (or ability to obtain one upon hire).

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with high-volume production baking.
Experience developing recipes and seasonal menus.
Inventory management and ordering experience.
Leadership or supervisory experience.

Schedule

Full-time
Early morning shifts (typically beginning between 4:00–6:00 AM)
Some holiday availability required
