Sous Chef Idletyme Brewing Company - Stowe, Vermont | Campfire Hospitality

Idletyme Brewing Company, located on Mountain Road in Stowe, VT, is seeking a hands-on Sous Chef to support our Head Chef and help lead our high-volume, from-scratch kitchen.

We specialize in elevated pub fare with a strong commitment to quality, consistency, and community. This role is ideal for a chef who thrives in a fast-paced environment, leads from the line, and takes pride in developing the team around them.

What You'll Do:

Execute & Lead on the Line

Assist the Head Chef in daily kitchen operations, upholding the highest standards of quality, presentation, and recipe adherence
Lead the line with confidence during busy services, events, and peak seasons
Assist in developing seasonal specials and communicate clearly with Front and Back of House teams

Build a Strong Team

Train, supervise, and coach kitchen staff in real time to improve execution and confidence
Foster a culture of respect, accountability, and "whatever it takes" teamwork

Run a Smart Operation

Manage inventory, ordering, and food costs to optimize kitchen efficiency
Support event preparation and collaborate with front-of-house for seamless service

Maintain Safety & Standards

Uphold a clean, organized kitchen and ensure full compliance with food safety and sanitation regulations
Resolve operational challenges as they arise

What We're Looking For

Proven experience in a fast-paced, high-volume, from-scratch kitchen
A hands-on team player comfortable working the line daily
Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Passion for growing as a leader and contributing to a strong team culture
Flexibility to work days, evenings, and peak seasonal periods

Compensation & Benefits

$26.00 - $29.00 per hour, based on experience
Full-time | Day, evening, and morning shifts available
