Full Job Description

Full time Sous Chef position for hire at Isla Blue Restaurant, a fine dining restaurant located at Frenchman’s Reef on the water in St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands. Great opportunity for the right Sous Chef with a love of the water. Come join an amazing Chef and team. We look forward to hearing from serious inquiries only. Must understand and have proven implementation of recipe and food cost systems, beautiful plating techniques, and positive energy.

Please note there is no relocation. No housing allowance.
Prefer Sous Chef that lives in St. Thomas, in process of relocating and secured housing, or already relocated. This position will also cover Sand Bar, located below Isla Blue, also owned by Prime Hospitality.

Responsibilities:
- Assist in overseeing all aspects of food management, including ordering, inventory control, and cost management
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth food service operations
- Train and mentor kitchen staff on proper food preparation techniques and safety procedures
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and sanitation in the kitchen area
- Monitor and enforce compliance with food safety regulations
- Manage and lead a team of culinary professionals
- Stay updated on industry trends and incorporate new techniques and ingredients into menu offerings

Skills:
- Assist Chef with menu planning skills, with the ability to create diverse and appealing menus
- Proficient in food management, including ordering, inventory control, and cost management
- Experience in food service or restaurant management, kitchen management, banquet or live station experience, seafood handling, plus dessert skills
- Excellent hospitality skills, with a focus on providing exceptional guest experiences
- In-depth knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices
- Strong leadership abilities to effectively work with a team of culinary professionals
- Demonstrated expertise in food production and preparation techniques
