Fleet Manager – Marine Repair & Maintenance
Seas the Day Charters USVI – St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands

Seas the Day Charters USVI is seeking an experienced, organized, and hands-on Fleet Manager to oversee the daily repair and maintenance of our fleet of 10 charter boats. Learn more about our company and fleet at https://seasthedayusvi.com.

This is a full-time management position based in St. Thomas, USVI. The Fleet Manager will supervise two full-time marine mechanics and coordinate all preventative maintenance, repairs, inspections, troubleshooting, parts procurement, and vessel readiness. Our boats operate daily, so the successful candidate must be able to prioritize repairs, manage multiple projects, and keep the fleet safe, reliable, and available for scheduled charters.

Primary Responsibilities:

Supervise and schedule two full-time marine mechanics
Oversee daily repair and maintenance activities for 10 boats
Inspect vessels and identify mechanical or operational concerns
Develop and manage preventative maintenance schedules
Coordinate emergency repairs and minimize vessel downtime
Diagnose mechanical, electrical, plumbing, engine, generator, and marine systems problems
Order parts, supplies, tools, and maintenance materials
Maintain accurate repair, service, warranty, and parts records
Monitor parts inventory and establish appropriate minimum stock levels
Coordinate with captains, operations staff, contractors, vendors, and boatyards
Confirm that vessels are safe, clean, operational, and ready for charter
Track outstanding maintenance projects and provide regular management updates
Help establish maintenance procedures, budgets, and performance standards
Ensure employees and contractors complete assigned work properly and on schedule

The ideal candidate will have several years of marine repair, fleet maintenance, boatyard, or marine operations experience. Experience with diesel engines, outboard engines, generators, electrical systems, plumbing systems, saildrives, and fiberglass repairs is strongly preferred. Previous supervisory or management experience is also preferred.

Candidates must be dependable, detail-oriented, physically capable of working aboard vessels, and comfortable working outdoors in a tropical marine environment. The position may occasionally require early mornings, weekends, or after-hours assistance when urgent repairs affect scheduled charters.
