Excavator/Dozer Operator – $28+ per hour based on experience + Family Benefits | Year-Round Local Work

At Concordia Contracting LLC, we’ve been building Michigan’s underground since 1985 — installing sanitary sewers, storm drains, and water mains for new developments across Wayne, Oakland, and Macomb Counties.

Position Overview

We’re hiring an experienced Excavator/Dozer Operator with utility trenching experience to join our sewer and water crew.
This is a full-time, hands-on position operating real heavy iron — not warehouse or plant machinery. You’ll run equipment that moves dirt, not pallets.

Responsibilities

Operate excavators, dozers, loaders, and skid steers for trenching, backfill, grading, and site prep
Excavate and set trench boxes to proper depth and grade for sanitary/storm/water installations
Load/unload trucks, handle spoils, remove concrete/asphalt, and assist with material staging
Perform daily inspections and light preventative maintenance on assigned equipment
Work safely alongside pipe layers, laborers, and foremen to complete projects on time

Qualifications

3+ years of underground utility experience operating heavy equipment (sanitary, storm, or water)
Proficient in trench work — able to dig to grade and work in tight areas safely
Strong mechanical aptitude and knowledge of machine operation and maintenance
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record (CDL preferred)
Ability to work outdoors year-round in Michigan weather
Safety-minded — OSHA 30, First Aid/CPR, or trench safety certs a plus
