Full Job Description

Responsible for all food preparation such as salad bar, potato bar and deserts. Assemble assorted diet food, purée, other requirements and daily snacks. Responsible for next day breakfast prep and catered/special events prep. Must be able to work the tray line when needed.

Food Preparation

Meets with cook supervisor – assigns daily food preparation such as salad bar, potato bar, deserts, employee meal setup and next day breakfast preparation and catered event tray and food. Delivery catered items. Ensures that dietary requirements are correct and puree consistency is correct. Ensure quality in all areas. Set up DOM serving area before meals.

Cleaning

Complete daily and weekly cleaning assignments. Follow department safety and sanitation guidelines.

Setup of Dish Room and Transport

Setup dish room prior to operation. Assist on dish machine as needed. Responsible for washing all pots and pans. Transport meal cart to appropriate unit.

Other Duties

Performs other duties as may be assigned that are within Dietary department’s mission and as situations warrant in meeting the overall needs of the facility.

May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.

Residents are PVCC’s first priority in comparison to all other assigned duties regardless of your job role.

Work Hours

This position will generally require a 40-hour work week Monday through Friday

Expected work hours will be 8:30 AM– 5:00 PM including a 30 min unpaid lunch break.

Hours subject to change per supervisor

Dress Code:

Any external facial piercings must be removed or covered with a band aid during your shift.

Fingernails no longer than ¼ inch over fingertip.

Name badges must be worn.

Work attire will be based on your department dress code standard.

Additional expectations:

No cell phone usage in resident care areas.

English language must be spoken in resident care areas.

Probationary Periods will be extended with non-compliance, and others will receive appropriate interventions accordingly

Approved Footwear

Proper footwear is essential for all employees for safety and sanitation reasons.

Non-skid shoes with closed toes and closed heels must be worn in all resident care and food service. Crocs, flip flops, and sandals are not allowed in resident care areas.

Employees who work in a non-resident care area may wear sandals, crocs or open back shoes but must keep a second pair of shoes available for use in the event of an emergency to prevent potential injury.

Requirements will be determined by facility Administrator.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $40,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year
