Company

We are a locally owned BBQ, Bar, and Grill in south Reno seeking two line cooks to join our team. We are open from 7am to 8pm for breakfast, lunch and dinner, Monday - Saturday. Everyone gets Sundays off! We offer a whole house daily tip pool(plus catering), cooks and dishwashers included, witch adds an extra $6-$10 and hour on top of your base salary. Base Salary ranges from $17-$20 an hour based on experience. We pay weekly via direct deposit and all tips go on your weekly check.

Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and energetic Line Cook to join our dynamic culinary team! In this vital role, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of dishes with precision and creativity, ensuring each plate meets our high standards for quality and presentation. Your enthusiasm for food preparation, adherence to safety standards, and ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment will contribute to delivering exceptional dining experiences for our guests. This position offers an exciting opportunity for individuals passionate about culinary arts and food service to grow their skills and make a positive impact.

Responsibilities

Prepare ingredients and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards
Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including ovens, grills, slicers, and fryers
Follow food safety guidelines and maintain cleanliness throughout the kitchen area
Assist in menu planning by preparing ingredients in advance and suggesting improvements
Ensure proper food handling, storage, and sanitation practices are consistently followed
Collaborate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate meal preparation and service
Maintain consistency in recipe adherence and presentation for all dishes served

Skills

Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or as a dietary aide within a food industry setting
Strong knife skills with proficiency in slicing techniques and ingredient portioning
Knowledge of safety standards in production environments and food safety management practices
Ability to operate various kitchen equipment safely and effectively
Excellent communication skills to coordinate with kitchen team members
Experience with menu planning, meal preparation, and catering is a plus
Familiarity with dietary department procedures and dietary aide experience is advantageous
