Commercial Tradesman

K&D Landscaping, Inc.

Position Summary

The Commercial Tradesman is an entry-level role responsible for supporting landscape construction and installation projects in the field. This position plays a key role in executing high-quality work that meets K&D Landscapings standards for safety, efficiency, and craftsmanship. This is a hands-on position designed for individuals who are dependable, willing to learn, and ready to grow within the company. Tradesmen work closely with Foremen and Supervisors to complete daily tasks, develop technical skills, and contribute to a productive and positive team environment.

Key Responsibilities

Field Production & Installation

Perform landscape construction tasks including planting, irrigation installation, grading, trenching, and material placement
Assist with installation of hardscape and softscape elements as directed
Follow project plans, specifications, and direction from foreman and supervisor
Maintain consistent production pace while ensuring quality standards are met

Equipment & Tools

Safely operate basic tools and equipment (training provided)
Assist with loading, unloading, and transporting materials and equipment
Help maintain tools and equipment in good working condition

Team Support

Work closely with Foreman and crew members to complete daily tasks
Follow direction and communicate clearly with team members
Contribute to a positive, team-oriented work environment

Safety & Job Site Standards

Follow all company safety policies and procedures at all times
Wear required PPE and use equipment safely
Maintain clean, organized, and hazard-free job sites
Participate in safety meetings and daily tailgates

Daily Operations

Arrive on time, ready to work, and prepared for the day
Assist with truck organization, cleanup, and end-of-day responsibilities
Represent K&D professionally on all job sites

Ability to perform physical labor in outdoor environments (lifting, bending, standing for extended periods)

Preferred Qualifications

13 years of landscape or construction experience
Basic knowledge of irrigation systems
Experience operating landscape equipment
Clean driving record

This role is designed as a starting point within K&D Landscaping. Tradesmen who demonstrate reliability, strong performance, and a willingness to learn will have the opportunity to grow into higher-level roles such as Tradesman II/III and eventually Foreman.

Responsabilidades Clave

Producción en Campo e Instalación

Realizar tareas de construcción de paisajismo, incluyendo plantación, instalación de riego, nivelación, excavación de zanjas y colocación de materiales
Apoyar en la instalación de elementos duros (hardscape) y blandos (softscape) según se indique
Seguir los planos del proyecto, especificaciones y dirección del capataz y supervisor
Mantener un ritmo de producción constante asegurando el cumplimiento de los estándares de calidad

Herramientas y Equipo

Operar herramientas y equipos básicos de forma segura (se proporciona capacitación)
Apoyar en la carga, descarga y transporte de materiales y equipo
Ayudar a mantener las herramientas y el equipo en buen estado

Apoyo al Equipo

Trabajar en conjunto con el capataz y los miembros de la cuadrilla para completar las tareas diarias
Seguir instrucciones y comunicarse claramente con el equipo
Contribuir a un ambiente de trabajo positivo y orientado al trabajo en equipo

Seguridad y Estándares del Sitio de Trabajo

Cumplir con todas las políticas y procedimientos de seguridad de la empresa en todo momento
Usar el equipo de protección personal (PPE) requerido y operar el equipo de manera segura
Mantener los sitios de trabajo limpios, organizados y libres de riesgos
Participar en reuniones de seguridad y charlas diarias (tailgates)
