Surgery Scheduler

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Surgery Scheduler to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will coordinate and manage surgical appointments, ensuring a smooth and efficient process for patients, surgeons, and medical staff. Key Responsibilities:

Schedule surgical procedures in accordance with physician and patient needs
Coordinate with surgeons and patients to confirm dates and times
Prepare and verify all necessary documentation, including patient records, insurance information, and pre-operative instructions
Communicate effectively with patients regarding pre-surgical preparations and post-operative care instructions
Maintain accurate and up-to-date scheduling records and documentation
Assist with insurance authorizations and pre-authorization processes as needed
Ensure compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and safety standards

Skills and Qualifications:

Proven experience in medical scheduling, preferably in a surgical or outpatient setting
Strong organizational and time-management skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
Knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare procedures
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) systems and scheduling software
Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
Ability to work effectively under pressure and prioritize tasks

Requirements:

Must have 2 years of proven Surgery Scheduling

Experience in Vascular preferred

Must have experience with Insurance authorizations

Strong knowledge of EMR/EHR such as eClinical and Epic

Familiarity with Medical Terminology including CPT coding, ICD-9/10 coding

Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office, Word, Excel

Handle front desk duties as needed

Exceptional communications skills with strong phone etiquette
