Full Job Description

Position Title: Facilities Manager

Supervised by Lead Pastor

Reports to: Lead Pastor

Position Status: Full-time, Exempt

Job Summary: Provide overall care & maintenance of the physical plant of FUMC/Wesley Foundation/Geiger House

Essential Job Functions:

Maintenance of properties (church buildings and Wesley properties; Geiger House) including the heating and air conditioning system, lawn care, snow removal, plumbing, electric works, and so on.
Facilitates showings of apartments/spaces.
Arranging contracts for maintenance, trash removal, landscaping, security and other ongoing services and managing disputes with these service providers where appropriate
Working with custodian to ensure building is clean - adhering to CDC & public health guidelines
Attend to urgent matters/emergencies in all the facilities as they arise
Prepare the facilities for Sunday morning services and takes a half day off during the week
See to medium-term & long-term projects to ensure progress/completion is done in timely manner.
Attendance at Board of Trustees and Church Council meetings
Coordinate inspections throughout of the course of the year
Maintain close communication with Lead Pastor, Business Manager, Wesley Foundation Director, LALC Director and the Trustees
Implements purchases, receipt, contract negotiations/administration, and other building management responsibilities.
Manages tenants’ maintenance related requests.

Compensation: $50,000-$55,000 plus health insurance and pension benefit

Basic Qualifications:

Competency in basic repair (plumbing, construction, heating/cooling, etc)
Ability to work with minimal supervision
Ability to set priorities & maintain manageable workload that conforms to expectations
Strong communication skills
Focusing on maintaining/upholding the mission, vision & values of FUMC
Basic computer skills

Our Staff Team:

The purpose of our Staff Team is to lead FUMC in fulfilling its Vision, Mission and Ministry Priorities. This includes the following priorities:

Developing strategies around building community wherever we serve.
Identifying leadership that can be developed and deployed to strengthen FUMC’s ministries.
Providing safe arenas for people to discover and grow in their spiritual life.
Connecting people with opportunities to be in mission locally, nationally, and globally.
Encouraging all to strive for full church participation by their prayers, presence, gifts, service, and witness.
