Full Job Description

Andrew’s Roofing Company is seeking a friendly, organized, and bilingual Receptionist to join our growing team. This position is designed to begin as a front-desk and customer-service role, with the opportunity to transition into estimating, sales support, subcontractor payroll, reporting, and administrative responsibilities for our Sales Department within the first year.

The ideal candidate is someone who enjoys working with people, is highly organized, communicates well, pays close attention to detail, and is interested in learning the roofing industry and developing into a larger role within the company.

As your responsibilities grow and you begin assisting with estimating, sales support, and other assigned responsibilities, there may be opportunities to earn commission in addition to your hourly wage. Commission opportunities will be based on the responsibilities assigned, performance, and company guidelines.

Work Schedule

Monday: 7:45 AM – 5:30 PM
Tuesday: 7:45 AM – 5:30 PM
Wednesday: Generally off
There may be an opportunity to work up to 3 hours on Wednesday when needed, or
Up to 3 hours may be worked on another day during the week, depending on business needs and approval.
Thursday: 7:45 AM – 5:30 PM
Friday: 7:45 AM – 5:30 PM

The schedule may occasionally require flexibility based on customer needs, sales activity, payroll deadlines, reporting deadlines, or other business priorities.

Initial Responsibilities – Reception & Office Administration

Warmly greet and welcome customers, visitors, and employees.
Answer and direct incoming phone calls in a professional and friendly manner.
Assist customers with general questions and direct inquiries to the appropriate team member.
Schedule appointments, inspections, and meetings.
Handle incoming and outgoing mail, packages, and deliveries.
Maintain a clean, professional, and organized reception area.
Maintain office, promotional, and roofing sample inventory.
Assist with general office organization and administrative duties.
Perform data entry, filing, document organization, and other administrative tasks.
Help maintain accurate customer and company records.
Prepare and organize documents for management and different departments.
Assist with company reports and routine administrative reporting.
Communicate with customers, subcontractors, and team members to help ensure smooth daily operations.
Handle confidential customer, employee, subcontractor, and company information with professionalism and discretion.
Collecting and organizing subcontractor time, production, or project information.
Reviewing submitted information for completeness and accuracy.
Entering subcontractor payroll information into company systems.
Assisting with payroll preparation and documentation.
Communicating with subcontractors regarding missing or incorrect information.

Advancement Opportunities – Sales, Estimating & Reporting

As the employee becomes familiar with our company, customers, roofing processes, and internal systems, the position is expected to gradually expand into additional responsibilities supporting the Sales Department.

Within the first year, responsibilities may include:

Assisting sales representatives with administrative tasks and customer follow-up.
Preparing and organizing documents for sales appointments.
Assisting with estimates and learning the company's estimating process.
Entering and maintaining project information in company systems.
Helping prepare proposals, estimates, and other sales documents.
Assisting with material selections, samples, and project documentation.
Preparing sales and project reports.
Tracking sales-related information and maintaining accurate records.
Assisting management with weekly, monthly, and other requested reports.
Supporting the Sales Department with day-to-day administrative tasks.
Learning the roofing industry, products, terminology, and estimating procedures.

Compensation & Commission Opportunity

This position has an hourly wage from $20-$22 depending on experience while the employee learns the receptionist and administrative responsibilities of the role.

As the position develops and additional estimating, sales, and other revenue-generating responsibilities are assigned, there will be opportunities to earn commission in addition to the hourly rate.

Commission opportunities may vary depending on the type of work performed, level of responsibility, performance, and company policies. The goal is to provide an opportunity for the right employee to increase their earning potential as they develop their skills and take on additional responsibilities.

Requirements

Fluency in English and Spanish, both verbal and written.
Previous receptionist, customer service, administrative, payroll, or office experience is preferred but not required.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy, especially when handling payroll and reports.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Comfortable learning new software and company systems.
Ability to work with confidential payroll, customer, subcontractor, and company information.
Ability to work independently while also contributing to a team.
Professional, friendly, and positive attitude.
Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to work.
Willingness to learn the roofing industry and develop new skills.
Ability to adapt as responsibilities increase and change.
Experience with JobNimbus, Company Cam, or Quickbooks is a plus.
High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or relevant experience is a plus.
