Full Job Description

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Optometrist to join our private practice. We are medically oriented but have a large family practice component as well. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive eye exams, contact lens fittings, and treatment and management of ocular disease as one sees fit. Equipment includes Optos, OCT, visual field, autorefractor, NCT, all which an optometric technician is trained in performing. We are looking for a doctor who values exceptional patient care, longevity with the practice, enjoys building long lasting relationships, and thrives in a collaborative environment.

Schedule (27–31 hours/week)

Monday: 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM

Tuesday: 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM

Thursday: 1:00 PM – 6:00 PM

Friday: 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM

Every Other Saturday: 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM

Responsibilities

Perform comprehensive eye examinations for patients of all ages.
Prescribe glasses and contact lenses.
Diagnose and manage ocular disease.
Maintain accurate electronic medical records and documentation of patient care.
Educate patients on proper eye care practices and the use of optical products.
Collaborate with other healthcare professionals in the management of patient care.
Utilize aseptic techniques during procedures to ensure patient safety.

Experience

A Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from an accredited institution is required.
Previous experience in a clinical setting is preferred, but not required, with a focus on customer service and patient care.
Familiarity with medical coding and medical records management is advantageous.
Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients and staff.
