Full Job Description

Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Accounting Manager to oversee our Property Management organization’s accounting functions, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and internal policies. This leadership role involves managing a diverse range of accounting activities, including financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and financial analysis. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in accounting systems and experience working with HOA's. This is a production of financial statements for a property management company bases in Orange County.

Duties

Lead the preparation of financial statements in accordance with GAAP and applicable accounting standards. * Including HOA's is a big plus
Oversee general ledger activities, including journal entries, account reconciliation, and balance sheet reconciliation.
Manage accounts receivable and accounts payable processes to ensure timely collections and payments.
Supervise month-end and year-end closing procedures, including bank reconciliations and audit support.
Conduct financial analysis to interpret financial reports, identify trends, and support strategic decision-making.
Maintain expertise in technical accounting issues such as LIHTC (Low-Income Housing Tax Credit), non-profit accounting, governmental accounting, securities law, and international accounting standards.
Mentor and develop junior staff members to enhance their technical skills in accounting software like Caliber, Vanica, other financial systems.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams on budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning initiatives.
Support tax compliance efforts by coordinating with external auditors and tax advisors.

Experience

Extensive professional experience in corporate accounting, public accounting, or related fields with a focus on financial management.
Strong background in governmental or non-profit accounting environments preferred.
Experience mentoring or supervising accounting teams to foster professional growth.
Knowledge of international accounting practices and securities law is advantageous.
Familiarity with financial concepts such as accrual accounting, budgeting, cash flow analysis, and account reconciliation.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including advanced spreadsheet skills for data analysis and report writing.
Ability to handle confidential information with integrity while ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.
