About the Role:

The Practice Administrator plays a pivotal role in overseeing the daily operations of a healthcare practice to ensure efficient, compliant, and patient-centered service delivery. This position is responsible for managing administrative functions, coordinating between clinical and non-clinical staff, and implementing policies that enhance operational effectiveness. The Practice Administrator leads financial management activities including budgeting, billing, and revenue cycle oversight to maintain the financial health of the practice. They also ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and standards, fostering a culture of quality and safety. Ultimately, this role supports the practice’s mission by optimizing workflows, improving patient satisfaction, and enabling healthcare providers to focus on delivering excellent care.

We are excited to announce that we are looking for a Full Time Practice Administrator for North Shore Gastroenterology in Great Neck, NY.

Responsibilities:

Manage day-to-day administrative operations of the healthcare practice, including scheduling, staffing, and resource allocation.
Oversee financial processes such as billing, coding, accounts receivable, and budgeting to ensure fiscal responsibility.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local healthcare regulations, including HIPAA and OSHA standards.
Coordinate communication and collaboration between providers, clinical staff, administrative personnel, and external vendors or partners.
Develop and implement policies and procedures to improve operational efficiency and patient experience.
Lead recruitment, training, and performance management of administrative staff.
Monitor key performance indicators and prepare reports for senior leadership to inform strategic decisions.
Address patient concerns and feedback to enhance service quality and satisfaction.

Skills:

The Practice Administrator utilizes strong organizational and leadership skills daily to coordinate complex schedules and manage diverse teams effectively. Financial acumen is essential for overseeing budgeting, billing, and revenue cycle management, ensuring the practice remains financially viable. Proficiency in healthcare regulations and compliance standards guides the administrator in maintaining legal and ethical operations. Communication skills are critical for liaising between clinical staff, patients, and external partners, fostering a collaborative environment. Additionally, problem-solving and analytical skills support continuous process improvements and the implementation of best practices to enhance patient care and operational efficiency.

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum of 2 years of experience in healthcare practice management or administration.
Strong knowledge of healthcare regulations, billing practices, and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
Proven ability to manage budgets and financial operations within a healthcare setting.
Excellent communication and leadership skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or a related field.
Experience with specific EHR software platforms relevant to the practice.
Background in quality improvement initiatives and patient safety programs.
Familiarity with human resources management and labor laws applicable to healthcare.
