Now Hiring: Full-Time Line Cook / Prep Cook

918 Bar & Grill at The Neuse Country Club

918 Bar & Grill at The Neuse Country Club is seeking an experienced and dependable Line Cook / Prep Cook to join our culinary team full time.

The ideal candidate will have at least 2 to 3 years of professional kitchen experience and be comfortable working in a fast-paced restaurant environment. This position requires experience with food preparation, line cooking, kitchen organization, sanitation, and the consistent execution of quality American-style food.

Our menu includes appetizers, salads, handhelds, light fare, casual club-style entrées, banquet selections, and seasonal specials.

Responsibilities

Prepare ingredients and complete daily prep lists
Set up and maintain an organized workstation
Prepare and execute menu items accurately and consistently
Follow recipes, portion standards, and presentation guidelines
Assist with receiving, rotating, labeling, and storing products
Monitor product levels and communicate prep or ordering needs
Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen
Follow all food safety, sanitation, and food-handling procedures
Support banquet preparation, special events, and seasonal menu offerings
Work closely with kitchen teammates and management to improve kitchen flow and guest satisfaction
Complete opening, closing, and cleaning responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications

At least 2 to 3 years of kitchen experience in a restaurant, bar and grill, country club, hotel, banquet facility, or casual dining environment
Experience with both food preparation and line cooking
Basic knowledge of cooking techniques, kitchen equipment, food safety, and sanitation
Ability to follow recipes and take direction
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
Reliable, punctual, self-motivated, and committed to quality
Ability to work well with others in a team environment
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English and basic cooking instructions
Availability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, evenings, and holidays as needed

Physical Requirements

Ability to stand and walk for eight hours or more per shift
Ability to bend, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, and climb stairs
Ability to safely lift and carry up to 50 pounds
Ability to work around heat, steam, sharp equipment, and other normal commercial kitchen conditions

This is a full-time position $16-$18

We are looking for someone reliable, organized, hardworking, and passionate about preparing quality food in a welcoming country club environment.

Pay: From $16.00 per hour
