Full Job Description

Job Title: Bookkeeper/Accounting

Job Summary:

An established Los Angeles-based hospitality company is seeking an experienced, motivated, excellence-driven Bookkeeper to manage their accounting operations and provide assistance to the Office Manager.

Activities include Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, General Accounting functions.

Qualifications Required:

Minimum 1 year of bookkeeping/accounting experience
Understanding of accounting best practices
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Microsoft 365, with the ability to build and maintain spreadsheets in Excel
Proficiency in QuickBooks Online and a willingness to learn other accounting applications and/or payroll platforms
Ability to manage and maintain an orderly bookkeeping and filing system
Ability to communicate effectively and with confidentiality in both verbal and written forms
Strong attention to detail and the ability to produce work with a high level of professionalism and accuracy
Good time management skills
Candidates must be able to work on site and reliably commute to the main office.
Must pass a background check and provide work references.
Bilingual in English/Spanish is considered a plus but not required

Responsibilities Include:

Manage all accounting operations, including accounts receivable and accounts payable, and provide other administrative support
Process reconciliations to maintain internal control and ensure accuracy of accounting
Prepare, input and reconcile journal entries into system according to schedule to meet month-end deadlines
Maintain an accurate record of financial transactions and data
Update, maintain and reconcile the general ledger, bank statements, etc.
Data input related to credit card and cash transactions and deposits.
Issue invoices to clients and financial statements as required.
Answer office phone, open mail, and assist in handling client, management and staff inquiries in a timely, efficient manner
Manage and maintain orderly bookkeeping and filing systems (physical and electronic)
Use knowledge of local, state and federal laws to comply with reporting requirements
Maintain confidential correspondence in filing, telephone, email and mail communication
Provide support to the Office Manager and assist with ad hoc projects

Job Type: Full-time

Starting Pay: $26.00 - 27.50 (DOE)

Hours: 40 hours per week (on-site)

Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
