Full Job Description

Our busy Worcester law office is seeking a motivated, organized, and detail-oriented Legal Intern/Legal Assistant to provide administrative and legal support in a fast-paced legal environment. This position is ideal for a college student, law student, or individual interested in gaining practical experience in a law office. The successful candidate must be dependable, maintain strict confidentiality, and possess excellent organizational and communication skills.

Primary Responsibilities

Prepare, review, and process legal billing and time entries.
Proofread legal correspondence, pleadings, contracts, and other legal documents for accuracy, grammar, formatting, and consistency.
Organize, maintain, and file physical and electronic client files.
Assist with document preparation, scanning, copying, and document management.
Perform general office and administrative duties, including answering phones, greeting clients, scheduling appointments, and managing correspondence.
Assist attorneys with case organization and other administrative tasks as assigned.
Maintain confidentiality of all client information and legal matters.
Support office operations to ensure efficient workflow.

Qualifications

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Access, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
Excellent proofreading, grammar, spelling, and written communication skills.
Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.
Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
Professional demeanor with strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
Ability to work independently while contributing effectively as part of a team.
Experience in a legal office is preferred but not required.
Enrollment in or completion of coursework related to law, business, or paralegal studies is a plus.
