Opportunity Overview

On behalf of a premier provider in the food processing and seasoning industry, we are seeking a dedicated Bookkeeper to join their New Castle, PA team. This company specializes in high-quality spices and custom blends for both commercial processors and home enthusiasts.

This role offers a significant leadership opportunity, as the Bookkeeper will oversee the accounting department, managing staff responsible for Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable. This position serves as a key financial pillar, working closely with the company President and an outside Accountant to ensure fiscal success.

Job Details:

Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Location: New Castle, PA
Salary: $55,000 – $63,000 per year

Key Responsibilities

Oversee all accounting functions and provide leadership to AP/AR representatives who work directly under this position.
Manage the general ledger and perform monthly account reconciliations to ensure the integrity of the company’s financial health.
Prepare monthly financial statements and collaborate with an outside Accountant for high-level fiscal review.
Communicate regularly with the company President to provide financial updates and analysis.
Build and maintain Excel spreadsheets for tracking; fact-check accounting data and monitor all transaction details.
Ensure all financial documents and filings meet federal, state, and local legal requirements.

Candidate Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Previous experience managing or overseeing staff within an accounting department.
Strong experience working with general ledgers and complex accounting principles.
Proven bookkeeping experience and proficiency in navigating general ledger systems.
Advanced Excel skills and a professional interpersonal demeanor.
