Full Job Description

The South Jefferson Central School District is currently seeking a Micro-Computer Technician to join our IT team. This is a full-time position that is vital to supporting our district's technology infrastructure. The pay rate for this role ranges from $20.00 - $24.00 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience.

South Jefferson Central School District is committed to providing exceptional technology support to students, teachers, and staff. You will play a key role in keeping our devices running smoothly - making a real difference in how education happens day-to-day.

South Jefferson Central School District is an equal opportunity employer. NYS Civil Service exam is required for permanent employment. Applications will be accepted until the position is filled.

What You'll Be Doing:

Install, configure, and maintain desktop computers, Chromebooks, printers, and peripheral hardware.
Provide technical support to staff and students (help desk, troubleshooting, repair, etc.)
Assist users with adapting and customizing computer software to their needs.
Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues.
Occasionally move equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
Travel between district buildings (valid driver's license required).

Minimum Qualifications: To be considered, candidates must meet one of the following criteria:

(A) An Associate's Degree in Computer Science, Data Processing, or a closely related field from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university, PLUS one year of experience in installing computers and adapting computer software for users; OR

(B) Completion of one year of study at a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university (including at least 15 semester credit hours in data processing or computer science courses), PLUS two years of experience in installing computers and adapting computer software for users; OR

(C) An equivalent combination of training and experience as defined by the limits of (A) and (B) above according to NYS Civil Service guidelines.

Location Details:

Work Location: In-person at the South Jefferson Central School District.
Transportation: Must have a valid driver’s license and ability to commute between District buildings.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour
