Full Job Description

v NPOC is a qualifying non-profit agency for anyone who currently has Federal Student Loans, is current on their payments, signed up for the Income Driven Repayment Plan, and meets the other Federal eligibility criteria.,the Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support to individuals with disabilities, helping them achieve their personal goals and enhancing their quality of life. You will work closely with clients in their home setting and community, possibly a few hours at our day service site, ensuring their needs, wants, dreams and desires are met while promoting independence and dignity.

Responsibilities

Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal care and hygiene.
Monitor medications as prescribed and maintain accurate medication records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Assist with preparing nutritious meals and assist with meal planning to promote healthy eating habits.
Provide companionship and engage clients in social activities to enhance their emotional well-being.
Assist with supporting the person to maintain a clean and safe living environment.
Collaborate with healthcare professionals, family members, and other caregivers to ensure comprehensive support for clients.
Document client progress and report any changes in behavior or health status to the appropriate personnel.

Qualifications

Previous experience in working with adults or children with intellectual and developmental disabilities is preferred but not required.
Knowledge of medication administration procedures and the ability to follow care plans effectively.
Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to ensure client confidentiality and privacy.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective interaction with clients, families, and team members.
Must possess the ability to utilize web-based programs, utilize applications on a smart phone and
A compassionate nature with a genuine desire to help others achieve their goals.
Flexibility and willingness to work with differing personalities and support needs.

NPOC offers exceptional employee benefits for all employees who maintain Full-Time Status of a minimum of 38 hour weekly, once the required number of days employed are met.

Each of the premiums for these benefits are paid in in part and some in full by NPOC for the employee unless noted otherwise:

v Weekend and Day Services Hours Shift Differential

v Health Insurance through Blue Cross Blue Shield

v Prescription Coverage

v Dental Insurance through Ameritas

v Vision Insurance through Ameritas – employees elect this insurance; and are responsible for paying the $9 monthly premium

v $20,000 Life Insurance

v Long-Term Disability and Dismemberment Insurance

v Seven Paid Holidays

v Annual Work Anniversary Bonuses – based on number of years with NPOC and what the budget allows

v Referral Bonuses – Refer your friends/family and as they reach employment milestones you get paid for referring them!

v Can accrue up to 70 hours of PTO per year

v As of October 1, 2025, 56 hours of sick leave, based on a 40-hour work week.

v **NEW** Hours worked at NPOC now considered as qualifying CNA hours.

Discounts on NPOC building rentals and design creation at the Copy Center is provided for all employees.
