Full Job Description

Position: MRI Technologist (MRI Tech) – Outpatient Spine Clinic
Shift: Day Shift, 5x8 Hours (40 hours/week) – Alternating shifts: 7:00 AM–3:30 PM and 9:00 AM–5:30 PM
Location: Mount Pleasant, SC
Pay: $2450 - $2550 weekly gross pay for traveler
for local candidate $52/hr - $54/hr

Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Radiology / Cardiology - MRI Technician to join our healthcare team. This vital role involves performing advanced imaging procedures to assist in accurate diagnosis and treatment planning for patients with cardiovascular and neurological conditions. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in medical imaging techniques, patient safety protocols, and equipment operation, contributing to high-quality diagnostic evaluations. This position offers an engaging environment where technical expertise and compassionate patient care are paramount.

Responsibilities

Operate MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) systems to acquire detailed images of the heart, blood vessels, and other relevant anatomy, ensuring optimal image quality.
Conduct specialized procedures such as CT (Computed Tomography), DEXA scans (Dual-Energy X-ray Absorptiometry), and sonography to support comprehensive diagnostic assessments.
Prepare patients for imaging procedures by explaining the process, ensuring their comfort, and applying aseptic techniques when necessary.
Maintain and calibrate medical imaging equipment in accordance with manufacturer guidelines and safety standards.
Utilize Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS) to store, retrieve, and manage digital images securely.
Assist with vascular access procedures and IV insertions to facilitate contrast administration or other interventions.
Ensure compliance with patient safety regulations, including radiation safety protocols and infection control practices.
Collaborate with physicians and radiologists to interpret images accurately and support diagnostic evaluations.
Document procedures thoroughly, including patient information, imaging parameters, and any deviations from standard protocols.

Requirements

Proven experience in diagnostic radiology or cardiology imaging modalities such as MRI, CT, DEXA scans, sonography, or vascular access procedures.
Proficiency in operating medical equipment including MRI machines, ultrasound devices, and PACS software.
Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and diagnostic radiology principles.
Ability to perform IV insertions and vascular access procedures safely and effectively.
Familiarity with patient safety regulations, aseptic techniques, and infection control standards.
Excellent understanding of medical imaging techniques used for diagnostic evaluation of cardiovascular and neurological conditions.
Effective communication skills to explain procedures clearly to patients and collaborate with healthcare teams.
