Teller / Member Service RepresentativeJob Summary

Pampa Teachers Federal Credit Union is seeking a friendly, dependable, and member-focused Teller/Member Service Representative to join our team. As the first point of contact for our members, you will play an essential role in creating a welcoming experience while providing accurate financial transaction services and identifying opportunities to help members achieve their financial goals.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, enjoys working with people, maintains a high level of integrity, and thrives in a fast-paced environment. This position requires excellent communication skills, accuracy in handling cash and financial transactions, and a commitment to delivering exceptional member service while complying with all credit union policies and regulations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Provide prompt, professional, and courteous service to all members.
Accurately process member transactions, including deposits, withdrawals, payments, transfers, cash advances, and check cashing.
Balance cash drawer and maintain a high degree of accuracy in daily transactions.
Open new accounts and assist members with account maintenance as authorized.
Identify member needs and recommend appropriate credit union products and services, including checking accounts, savings accounts, certificates, debit cards, credit cards, and consumer loans.
Educate members on digital banking services, mobile banking, online banking, electronic statements, and other self-service options.
Answer member questions regarding accounts, products, services, and policies.
Resolve member concerns professionally or refer complex issues to the appropriate staff member.
Maintain confidentiality of member information in accordance with applicable privacy laws and credit union policies.
Follow all security procedures, including cash handling, robbery prevention, fraud detection, and identification verification.
Comply with all applicable federal regulations, including Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), USA PATRIOT Act requirements, and other credit union compliance standards.
Maintain accurate records and documentation using the credit union's operating systems.
Participate in ongoing training and professional development.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required.
Previous cash handling, retail, customer service, or financial institution experience preferred.
Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
Must be available to work closing shifts.
Must be available to work a rotating Saturday schedule.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
Ability to perform accurate mathematical calculations.
Basic understanding of debits, credits, and financial transactions.
Ability to learn and operate credit union software and Microsoft Office applications.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong ethical standards and commitment to member confidentiality.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Exceptional member service and relationship-building skills.
Accurate cash handling and balancing abilities.
Sales and referral skills with the ability to identify member financial needs.
Knowledge of fraud prevention and security procedures.
Understanding of banking or credit union operations.
Ability to multitask while maintaining accuracy.

Dependable attendance and punctuality.

Physical Requirements

Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
Frequent use of a computer, keyboard, telephone, and calculator.
Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
Manual dexterity sufficient to handle currency, coin, and office equipment.
