Night Shift Manufacturing Supervisor

Exempt/Non-Exempt: Exempt

Benefits: 1st of month following 60 –days: Insurance, Paid Holidays, Vacation, 401K

Employment Type: Full-Time

Department: Production

General Purpose: Supports, drives company objectives through effectively supervising, organizing, and monitoring work processes.

Job Duties: (duties include, but are not limited to, the following)

· Directs training and development of team leads and production personnel to perform work assignments safely and efficiently.

· Provides structured and impromptu performance feedback.

· Participates in compensation decisions linked to individual performance.

· Develops positive employee relations aligned with our culture through two-way communication and consistent application of employee relation policies.

· Responsible and accountable for applying health, environmental, safety standards, lean work practices and housekeeping policies and procedures.

· Follows production schedules aligned with visual factory systems, reacting to and addressing constraints.

· Reports daily indicators, including safety, quality, delivery, and productivity.

· Solicits and implements process, procedure, and equipment improvements from team members.

· Audits standard work practices and regularly reviews them for effectiveness.

· Schedules and supports overtime as required to meet internal and external customer requirements.

· Inform operators of any changes to the production schedule and how those changes will be implemented.

· Performs regular walk-throughs to ensure all safety guidelines are being followed and evaluates Team Members aligned with company expectations.

· Applies hour by hour principles to ensure quality and production targets.

· Maintain general plant cleanliness – identifies unsafe conditions and behaviors that could endanger the Team Members and works to eliminate them

· Escalate potential hazards and safety problems to the Safety Manager

· Communicates, escalates positive and negative opportunities that can impact the business.

Qualification Requirements:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

· High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.

· Minimum 5+ years’ experience in a manufacturing environment.

· Minimum 3 + years supervising employees in production and leadership roles.

· Prior experience achieving superior results utilizing lean manufacturing principles.

· Basic MS Office experience, primarily Word and Excel.

· Excellent verbal and written communications skills, along with good interpersonal skills

· Safety – proven ability to recognize safety as the organization’s highest priority, experience with Behavior based safety preferred.

· Teamwork – Balance team and individual responsibilities; exhibits objectivity and openness to others’ views; provides and solicits feedback openly; contributes to developing our organizational culture; supports everyone’s efforts to succeed

Physical Demands:

· Must be able to lift 50 pounds on a regular basis, willing to assist others or seek assistance for heavier lifts.

· Must have the ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time.

· Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, stoop, kneel, climb stairs, and reach with hands and arms

· Must have the ability to use ladders to safely access equipment or work platforms.

· Able to perform computer work, vision acuity for making decisions on quality and observing processes from a distance.

· Can work safely in work environments with varying noise levels.'
